Jeep Wrangler Pickup rumoursPosted On March 21, 2016
You can’t get much more “Jeep” than with the Wrangler. This off-road vehicle offer the capabilities and the opportunities that few other automakers can even come close to – with such advanced technologies that while they may not retain their residual value in a specific sense, they retain their rugged, adventurous heart and trailblazing efficacy.
There’s a lot in store for the Wrangler brand in the future – as detailed in the 2014 Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) 2014 – 2018 business plan update. Among them, we have already received official word that we’ll be welcoming a new 4-door model – with the intention of adding a mildly hybrid model for the next generation. There are also rumours of a Jeep Wrangler pickup truck in the works.
What’s more? This elevated 4-door Wrangler model will, in short-order, be available with a diesel engine – and FCA’s eventual Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) by the end of the decade.
So, what does this mean for drivers? Well, FCA has a lot going on for us behind the scenes, while there’s a lot that remains somewhat, and with all likelihood, intentionally, ambiguous. This includes the ongoing rumour that the next generation Wrangler will be available with a pickup cargo bed option.
The information remains rather vague at this stage, but all the same, check out the concept images and be sure that the moment official word comes through that FCA is moving forward with the pickup model Wrangler that you’ll hear about it from the team at Big Lakes Dodge!
